Classic Engagement Basket
Th
is pot is a medium size engagement/friendship basket with the classic braided handle. The handle of this pot is actually two coils braided and then attached to the body. This pot has no designs which allows the grace of the handles to be more evident.

I have done this style of pot with the traditional carved style and  contempory carvings such as hummingbirds. I then use the pueblo designs as part of the borders. I have also done the etched style on my pottery after the firing using my hummingbird designs and traditional designs for my borders. The prices on these styles are higher.

This pot is hand coiled with all native hand dug clay and stone burnished to get the shine with another native clay.
Firing is done in the traditional way, outdoors- using cottonwood, cedar and then smothered with manure to achieve the black style.

Classic Water Jar with Bear Paws
Th
is pot is a medium size Water Jar with a tapered neck and four Bear paw designs. This pot has the Bear Paw design carved into the neck of the jar.
This design signifies the time when our people were still residing in the Puye Cliff Dwellings. There was a time of drought in the cliff dwellings and the men would find the bear claws markings where they would find water. The Bear Paw design was then put on the waterjar as a sign of respect and thanksgiving.

This pot is hand coiled with all native hand dug clay, deep carved design, stone burnished to get the shine with another native clay.
Firing is done in the traditional way, outdoors- using cottonwood, cedar and then smothered with manure to achieve the black style.
